FB44719 tagged RC was seen and photographed at La Janda, on several dates between 10 September 2015 and 1 January 2016.  La Janda, like many wetlands in Spain, was drained for agricultural purposes in the middle of the last century.Nowadays in winter La Janda is an area of flooded rice fields, and has a high concentration of Marsh Harriers that winter here.
Next seen at Gauteriz-Arteaga, Viszcaya, Spain on 31 October 2016 and with no other reported sightings this begs the question as to whether this bird remained in Spain thoughout 2016 or was it on its way back having spent time elsewhere.
On 7 April 2017 FB44719 was seen at Patrington Haven, East Riding of Yorkshire back here in the UK, perhaps returning here to breed?
